I was going to post a picture of all my wonderful deals today, except that I was over budget a little bit. Ok, ok! ALOT.
I went to Meijer today. And only Meijer. TWICE.
I took the entire family with me the first time, and that was a big mistake. By the time I was 1/2 thru, I was so stressed out, I didn't snag the deals that I wanted, got more than I originally planned, and forgot about half my list.
So, after dinner tonight, I had to make a trip back. All together, I spent...
My hands are shaking as I type this...
Are you ready?
I spent total of $250.00 at the store today!
Yeah, you read that right, TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS!
Now, it didn't help that we were out of everything, including dog food, cat food and litter, water softener salt, drinking water (well water is just nasty!) and things like aluminum foil, cooking spray, and the like. You know, things you normally don't think about on a regular basis?
So, I do have two turkeys. One is in the fridge, one in the freezer for later. I should be able to make what I have last for at least 3 weeks, if not stretch it out to 4. Yeah, I know, for $250 I should be able to stretch that out to 5 weeks, but I am also trying to be realistic. Fruit and milk and eggs will need to be purchased before then. So, I am hanging my head in shame for the time being, and working a plan to make this food streeeeeeee-tch as far as possible.
I will make up my menu plan for the week and work on a plan for the month. Maybe it'll work? Gosh, I sure hope so!!
Hang with me and we'll see what I can come up with!

*sigh* no worries.. I made it EXACTLY 3 days into my challenge which for me was only buying milk, cheese, produce, and meat (when all the meat I have is gone) before K-Marts double coupon days called me there. I spent $40 OOP which was a lot for double coupon days but I bought a few itmes we really needed like a new kitty litter box, a tea pot, canning supplies, etc. It adds up quick.
