Bucket List

I was really impressed by the movie "The Bucket List" the other night. Karl and I had gone to see it with some "bestest" friends, and I am not sure which of the four of us cried harder.
It got me thinking about goals and setting them and having the courage to reach them. I had started this list about 5 months ago, but gave up on it...so much for goals, eh? So, here is my "unofficial" Bucket List: (AKA...101 things to do in 1001 days)

  • 1. Pay off all debt, except house
  • 2. Open bookstore
  • 3. Learn how to rollerblade
  • 4. Sail the ocean for a week
  • 5. Call my mother every week for 6 weeks
  • 6. Read 12 books and write reviews
  • 7. Earn a paying writing job
  • 8. Read the whole Bible, cover to cover, and not skip the "boring" stuff
  • 8. Lose enough weight to get down to premarital size
  • 9. Read 3 books on html programming
  • 10. Design own blog template
  • 11. Become a paramedic

  • 12. Visit 10 new blogs a week for 6 weeks and comment on them
  • 12. fence in yard
  • 13. replace the windows in the house
  • 14. Take each son separately on a date
  • 15. Paint the front porch
  • 16. Actually complete a full homeschool unit study
  • 17. Take children to the zoo 5 times this spring/summer
  • 18. Complete Spanish course
  • 19. clean out laundry room
  • 20. carpet the bedroom floor
  • 21. Buy a new camera
  • 22. Learn how to knit and make a scarf
  • 23.Memorize 100 Bible verses
  • 24. Witness to 10 people
  • 25. Learn how to use sewing machine and make new curtains for bedroom
  • 26. Buy a candy bar or water bottle for 15 cashiers
  • 27. Take kids to see Grandparents in Arizona
  • 28. Take kids to see Grandparents in South Carolina
  • 28. Visit Canada
  • 29. Return all of Nancy's stuff that I have borrowed :)
  • 30. Finish back patio
  • 31. Open a Christmas club account
  • 32. de-clutter dining room
  • 33. Read "Heart of Wisdom" book cover to cover
  • 34. Find a beginning homeschooler and mentor them
  • 35. Buy new dishes
  • 36. Get garden planted
  • 37. Make and can spaghetti sauce
  • 38. Make and can apple sauce
  • 39. Make and can apple butter
  • 40. Buy and raise 5 chickens to produce our own eggs
  • 41. Write ahead 10 blog postings for each blog
  • 42. Spend a "girls"weekend away
  • 43. Take a night out, just for myself and actually enjoy the quiet
  • 44. Find Lisa's phone number and call her
  • 45. Complete 2 Bible studies
  • 46. Start our home church
  • 47. Invite 6 families over for dinner (at different times) to encourage, and share with them
  • 48.Get a second dog for Mikayla
  • 49. Take kids to New Hope Farms 10 times to ride horses
  • 50. Write a "money savings" ebook
  • 51. Write for an online magazine
  • 52. Take a camping trip in 3 different seasons, one being winter
  • 53. Get Hubby that much wanted motorcycle
  • 54. Write a love letter to Hubby
  • 55. Write will

  • 57. Learn to salsa dance
  • 58. Learn to ski
  • 59. Pour concrete for driveway
  • 60. Re-do bathroom, from flooring up
  • 61. Plant herb garden

  • 64. Teach Aaron to ride bicycle
  • 65. Fast for one day a week for 4 weeks
  • 66.Decaffeinate self off coffee completely

  • 68. Use "100 Easy Lessons" with Aaron
  • 69. Plan missions trip
  • 70. Get passport picture taken

  • 79. Write 5 letters to congressmen, telling them my position on bills
  • 80. Plan a homeschooler's conference in our area
  • 81. Host a homeschoolers conference in our area
  • 82.Go to the Wisconsin Dells
  • 83. Take kids to Splash Universe for Mikayla's birthday
  • 84. Clean out kids clothes
  • 85. Go through our clothes
  • 86. Clean out closet
  • 87. paint bedroom
  • 88. Take a financial information course
  • 89. Read book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad"
  • 90. Learn 3 ways to make vegen (not soy) meals
  • 91. Write Grammy an email a week for 16 weeks
  • 93. Take kids to Chicago
  • 94. Spend one Saturday morning (until 12:00noon) in jammies and cuddling in bed with kids
  • 95. Take kids to Amish Acres
  • 96. Call or email 4 friends that I have gotten out of touch with
  • 97. Write my bio
  • 98. Spend one evening each season (total of 4) looking at the stars
  • 99. Chart the stars that we have found each season
  • 100. make all necessary doc appointments for each family member
  • 101. write out new list
